Pearl Harbor Short Story 2

1944

Milo

Life. Is. Worthless. Without my best friend, life is absolutely boring. Missing sign hung up everywhere for the bravest woman in the world. Well, everyday is a pain in my back. Is she dead? Is she dead? No, she cannot. I head on to the Pearl Harbor disaster. Its beautiful sight has been rumbled to the ground. It has been a few years since you haven’t heard any news. I’ll fill you in. During the Japanese invasion, one of the planes crashed on Pearl Harbor and they were going to kill the survivors. When they found them, one of the officers remembered one of the men. He used to work for the U.S Army. They took him in and he has to be in  prison for a decade. Also, Colonel Ernesto became a mechanical engineer to fix motorcycles. I joined in and that’s my new job. Today’s the weekend, I am just relaxing in my room. Ever since Kristy left, her parents gave me her room. They’ve been through a lot. I was watching television when I heard something interesting.

“Reporting live from a mysterious island near Hawaii, we see a woman on a stranded island that looks like she also has a boat next to her.”

As I saw that woman there, there was something I recognized about that woman. It was a gold necklace, it had half a heart, that had my name on it. It was really faint, but I knew it was her.

“The coordinates of this place is …”

I knew it was her. I ran to work and found Colonel Ernesto.

“Sir! I found Kristy!” I yelled.

“What?” He replied, “ Where?’’ He asked.

I showed him the news and he was surprised.

“Sorry Milo, I would love to go with you but… I have to finish work here. You have to go and save her.” He said.

I saluted and ran to the dock. I found keys for the boat and I started following the coordinates. I started the boat and went at full speed and followed the coordinates to find the island. I found the island just in time and saw no one. I got rid of the keys from the boat and got on the island. The sand was sandy and got everywhere in my eyes. I found a few palm trees to be in the shade. As I was walking I thought I heard something until… I got hit with something.

Woah, Where am I? I absolutely didn’t know where I was until I realized I was. I was in a hammock. I was resting in the hammock with the wind slightly in my face. I saw a woman, in my blurry vision and she was making something. I wanted to call out, but I couldn’t speak. I just went back to sleep.

I woke up, this time with clear vision. I saw this woman sitting on the sand watching the sunset. I walked over and sat next to her, she didn’t know I was there.

“Kristy?” I said.

The girl looked at me and looked surprised.

“Milo?” She said, It. Was. Her. She jumped on me and hugged me. She hugged me for so long, that her face was so near. She quickly kissed me as if nothing ever happened. Then we enjoyed it for a while until the sunset ended.

We got on the boat and started going home. It was night and we had to keep going straight. I went straight until there was a really big wave that took over the boat. I got dunked underwater and had to hold my breath. I was sinking, slowly, until Kristy came to save me. She dove towards me and carried me to the surface. She made me float on my back as she did the same. We held hands so we didn’t drift apart. The boat was flipped upside down and we didn’t have enough strength to flip the boat. We just floated, in the middle of the ocean, watching the stars.
